Do I pay extra if the dumpster is heavy?
No. The price you see is the price you pay. As long as you stick to accepted materials, there are no weight overage fees. Heavy materials like concrete, brick, and dirt require a Heavy Debris rental at a different rate — we'll guide you at booking.
The standard overage fee across the dumpster rental industry is $40–$100 per ton. Most customers fill the dumpster by volume before hitting weight limits on standard household and renovation debris. But heavy materials like concrete, brick, dirt, and roofing shingles hit weight fast — that's where most companies make extra money.
Tapdump's model is different. We price heavy materials as a separate "Heavy Debris" tier at a premium rate up front, and absorb weight risk on everything else. As long as you stick to accepted materials (furniture, appliances, general renovation debris), there are no hidden weight overage fees, period.
What's included in your rental (no overage charges):
- Household furniture (couches, mattresses, tables, dressers)
- Appliances (refrigerators, washers, dryers)
- General construction debris (drywall, wood, non-treated lumber)
- Yard waste and vegetation
- General junk and miscellaneous items
What needs a Heavy Debris rental (separate pricing):
- Concrete and concrete breakup
- Brick, pavers, and masonry
- Dirt, soil, and sod
- Roofing shingles and materials
- Asphalt
This means peace of mind — no scale at the dump, no surprises on your final bill. The price you agree to at booking is the price you pay.
