Will it damage my driveway?

Dumpsters are placed on sealed concrete or asphalt with no issues. We can place plywood boards underneath on request. Avoid asphalt driveways in summer heat — the weight can leave marks.

The short answer is no — for most driveways. Here's the nuance.

Concrete driveways (sealed):

Completely safe. Dumpsters are designed to sit on sealed concrete. The weight is distributed across the wheels, and there's zero risk of damage. This covers most suburban driveways in the US.

Asphalt driveways:

Safe in spring, fall, and winter. In summer heat, asphalt gets soft and the dumpster weight can leave marks (think of tire tracks on a hot parking lot). The marks usually fade when the asphalt cools, but they're not guaranteed to disappear.

Our solution:

We provide free plywood boards to place underneath the dumpster. This distributes weight even further and eliminates any risk on asphalt. Just ask when the hauler arrives, or mention it when you book.

What to avoid:

  • Unsealed or unpaved ground (dirt, gravel) — dumpster will sink
  • Very old asphalt in summer — opt for plywood
  • Driveways with cracks or weak spots — plywood helps here too

Bottom line:

If you're worried, mention it at booking. Plywood boards are free. We want your driveway to look the same after we leave.
