Moving dumpster rental is the practical solution for items you don't want to move to a new home or location. Instead of paying your moving company to haul large furniture and appliances you'll replace anyway, or making a dozen trips to donate or dump, a moving dumpster rental lets you dispose of everything at once on moving day. Most people find that downsizing before a move saves on moving costs and gives them a fresh start in the new space.
TapDump delivers moving dumpsters in 10, 15, 20, and 30-yard sizes timed to your moving schedule. All rentals include a 10-day rental period, delivery, pickup, and disposal. Flat pricing — no hidden fees, no surprise bills.
Types of moving scenarios
Whether you're relocating, downsizing, or moving into a smaller space, here's what different moves typically need.
Items you don't want to move to a new home — old furniture, duplicates, worn goods that would cost more to ship than replace
Reducing from a house to an apartment or smaller home — large furniture, extra appliances, and decades of accumulated stuff
Moving from long-time residence or downsizing for assisted living — full household contents you can't or won't keep
Clearing items left by previous tenants or junk from renovation before showing the unit
Clearing an off-site storage unit that's been sitting for years — often mixed furniture, boxes, and forgotten items
Moving overseas or to a place where you need to clear your home — furniture too expensive to ship or not compatible with new location

Tips for moving-day disposal
Know what you're not taking before the moving truck arrives. Identify items you want to dispose of and book the dumpster to arrive the day before or morning of your move. This lets you load the dumpster while unloading the truck.
Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and OfferUp let you sell furniture locally in 48 hours. Many moving companies also handle donation coordination. Selling large items recovers money; dumping costs money.
Goodwill, Salvation Army, and local charities offer free or low-cost furniture pickup if you schedule in advance. Donation is often better than dumping and provides a tax write-off.
Appliances, furniture, and heavy boxes go on the bottom. Light items (clothing, decorations) on top. This maximizes the weight capacity and helps you fit more.
Empty boxes take up huge volume. Flatten them and break them down — you'll fit 2–3x more space back into the dumpster.
Paint, propane, motor oil, and batteries cannot go in a dumpster. Set these aside and dispose at an HHW facility or auto parts store. Even one item can trigger rejection of the entire load.

About Tapdump
No. The price you see is the price you pay. As long as you stick to accepted materials, there are no weight overage fees. Heavy materials like concrete, brick, and dirt require a Heavy Debris rental at a different rate — we’ll guide you at booking.
